HSBC income falls 56.7% from January to September
El Economista - Net income of Grupo Financiero HSBC Mexico fell by 56.7 percent from January to September compared to the same period in 2008, a result of a decline in interest income and commissions and an increase in reserves.
Construction values dip at 7.4% annual rate in August
El Semanario - Construction values declined at a 7.4 percent annual rate in real terms in August due to a slower pace of construction of buildings and other structures, according to data from a survey by the National Chamber of Construction Companies (ENEC).

El Semanario - Agreeing to a request by the Mexican Electricians Union, a federal judge on Saturday temporarily suspended the dissolution of the central Mexico utility Luz y Fuerza del Centro, which was ordered by the Calderon administration.
Tender for aqueduct to be offered soon
El Semanario - The federal National Water Commission (Conagua) says it will soon launch the tender for construction of a Zapotillo-León aqueduct to supply water to the cities of Altos Jalisco and Guadalajara, which will require an investment of over 5.35 billion pesos ($406.9 million).

IDB approves $150 million job generation loan
El Finanaciero - The Inter-American Development Bank approved a loan of $150 million to the government of Mexico to support the generation of employment and promote labor mobility and productivity of their workers.
GAP reaches agreement with airlines on TUA
Sentido Comun - Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacific, or GAP, announced that it has reached agreement with all airlines that use its air terminals to collect the fee for airport use, or TUA, when issuing airline tickets.
