Oz Minerals seeks 70% stake in Mexico project

Coeur d'Alene gains output on Boliva, Mexico mines

Business Wire - Silver and gold producer Coeur d'Alene Mines Corp. said Thursday it produced 47 percent more silver in 2009, and gold production rose 56 percent as new mines in Bolivia and Mexico began operation. The firm plans $17.9 million on exploration in 2010.

Suit filed in U.S. over Grupo Mexico mine blast

Dow Jones - A U.S. labor group said Thursday that it has filed a lawsuit against mining company Grupo Mexico and several of its subsidiaries on behalf of three widows of miners who died in a 2006 coal mine explosion. The filing comes on the fourth anniversary of the Feb. 19, 2006, explosion at Grupo Mexico's Pasta de Conchos mine in Coahuila. Sixty-five miners died.

Cananea miners refusing to leave premises
