Sugar imports to increase due to low domestic supply
El Semanario - The Ministry of Economy authorized a quota to import 250,000 tons of sugar to ensure domestic supply. Economy Secretary Gerardo Ruiz Mateos reported that the 2009-2010 harvest, which began in October, will barely total 590,000 tons while national demand is 5.26 tons.
